In volleyball, Calvin has two individuals who have received MIAA Player of the Week honors. Junior Kara Kuipers of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School leads the way as she has been named MIAA Player of the Week for the second
straight week.
A 6-0 middle-hitter, Kuipers sparkled in a three-game (30-23,
30-23, 30-20) victory over rival Hope last Wednesday night as she amassed 20 kills and nine blocks while also compiling a sizzling .655 hitting percentage.
The Hudsonville native also served two aces and finished with two digs in the win. On the year, Kuipers has an impressive hitting percentage of .503 and is averaging 5.38 kills, 1.69 blocks and 1.06 digs-per-game."
